Description
Hot Long Red Cayenne Organic Pepper Seeds 4150. Heirloom Vegetable.
Approx. 25 seeds/pkt (160 seeds/gram)
This pepper produces long, slender, wrinkled peppers, 12 cm x 1.25 cm in size on plants that grow to 75 cm in height. While the spicy, hot peppers can be harvested green, they are best left on the plant to mature to an irresistible red. They are also an excellent pepper for drying. Is your mouth watering yet? How to Grow
Sow seed indoors in early March 2 mm deep in a soil-less seed starting mix. Germination can take from 14-21 days at 22-25° C. Transplant seedlings at the second or third leaf stage into 7.5 cm pots. Grow under lights with warm 24° C days and cooler 16° C nights. Harden off seedlings then transplant out after all risk of frost has passed – this usually occurs in late May to early June. In the garden, space plants about 90 cm apart in organic, well drained soil. Full sun is essential for best results. Shelter plants from gusty winds and keep evenly watered.
