Description
Borage Seeds 3010. Heirloom Herb.
Approx. 50 seeds/pkt (50 seeds/gram)
Borage seeds produce loads of pretty blue flowers that help to attract beneficial bees to your garden. Plants grow to 50 cm tall in the garden. We believe that borage is often overlooked and definitely underused in the garden, as it makes an outstanding ornamental plant. Flowers are used as a garnish for salads or are candied, while the leaves are used to flavour claret punch. Borage may establish itself in the garden by self-sowing or by animals distributing the seeds. While it is adventive, borage is not invasive. Annual.

How to Grow
Sow seed directly outdoors in a sunny site with average soil in mid-to-late May. Plant seed 3 mm deep and 2.5 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 30 cm apart. Seed can also be started indoors in a soil-less medium 4-6 weeks before last frost date. Keep temperature at 20° C for the 7-10 day germination period then grow on at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and planting out after the danger of frost has passed.
