Approx. 600 seeds/pkt (16,000 seeds/gram)
Chamomile seeds produce plants that can self-sow and may establish adventive stands. Full sun is essential for best flower production. Aromatic daisy-like flowers are used for teas, perfumes and potpourris. Multi-branched spreading plants grow to 30 cm wide and up to 60 cm tall. Chamomile is a very easy plant to grow and makes a great plant for the back of rock gardens! Also known as Kamille or Mayweed. Annual.
How to Grow
Sow seed directly outdoors in a sunny site with average soil in mid-to-late May – do not cover the seed. Seed can also be started indoors in a soil-less mix 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Keep temperature at 21° C for the 7-10 day germination period, then grow on at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and transplanting outside after the danger of frost has passed. Sow seed 3 mm deep and 2.5 cm apart then thin to 15 cm apart in the garden. Prefers well-drained to sandy soils in full sun.
