Spinach Viking Seed Tapes Seed Tape 1020. Heirloom Vegetable.

2 metres (6 feet) seed strip. Approx. 100 seeds.

This dependable heirloom spinach produces a heavy yield of glossy, tasty dark green savoyed leaves that are rich in vitamins.  Viking is a long standing variety that shows good heat tolerance. Harvest of mature leaves can be expected about 50 days after planting. Baby greens can be harvested at about 20-30 days. Introduced in 1933.

How to Grow

In a sunny spot sow successive crops every 2 weeks from early spring to early summer and again in late summer as long as the weather is cool. Lay out tape in desired location and cover with 12 mm of soil. Space rows 45 cm apart. Keep the seedbed evenly moist during the germination period. For best seedling emergence avoid crusting over the soil while the seeds are sprouting. Thin seedlings to 7.5 cm apart. Thinnings can be used as baby greens. Germination occurs in 10-14 days.
